Slim those hard to reach fat areas!

Aging is a fact of life, but looking your age doesn’t have to be…

If only our genes would follow our dreams!  We may have put in the order for gorgeous wrinkle-free luminous skin, but that doesn’t always happen.  Occasionally, we inherit qualities that make us look older or overweight.  If you’re self-conscious about the fat under your chin, then Kybella will help.  It’s an injection that helps reduce your “double chin” to make you look and feel years younger!

The bummer about double chins is that they don’t seem to go away even if you eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly.  The Kybella is made with a normally occurring molecule that your body already makes, so it’s completely natural!  Kybella eliminates double chin fat to help give you a slimmer appearance.  Here is what you need to know about Kybella and how it can help you!

Kybella Treatment

Kybella contains a naturally occurring compound in the body called deoxycholic acid, which helps break down fat by destroying the fat cell membrane. The FDA approved Kybella injections in 2015, so it’s a safe procedure! Currently, Kybella is the only FDA-approved injection to treat double chins.

Research shows that the fat underneath your chin may be inherited genetically. It’s a stubborn type of fat that doesn’t seem to go away no matter how much you diet or exercise. Kybella is placed into the fat below your neck to help destroy these fat cells and reduce the appearance of your double chin.

Many people like Kybella because it is better tolerated than having a lower facelift surgery. Plus, it uses a completely natural compound in its synthetic form so that it’s easier to absorb in the body. It’s also a great alternative to liposuction and Coolsculpting for areas that contain stubborn fat. Liposuction and Coolsculpting could lead to the unevenness of the area and loose skin.

Area of Kybella Treatments

How it works

When you schedule a Kybella injection, Dr. Mai will inject Kybella into your problematic area. Deoxycholic acid, the active ingredient in the injection, breaks down the membranes of the fat cells. Your body absorbs the dead fat cells. Since you do not make any new fat cells, these cells are gone, so the results are long-lasting as long as you do not gain excessive weight.

What to expect during the Kybella Treatment

Before getting started, Dr. Mai will clean the area. She  will mark the area where she wants to treat. The area will be iced, and Dr. Mai will inject under the skin to ensure that the area is well treated. The injected solution will gradually work over the next few weeks. There will be some discomfort from the medication for a few minutes. Then there will be swelling for 4-7 days that may be noticeable, but after a week the swelling will be there but not noticeable by other people. The number of injections and sessions may vary based on your response rate. However, we recommend waiting at least 6 weeks to 2 months in between treatment sessions to allow the injection to completely work. Subsequent  Kybella treatments will have less pain and swelling. Kybella will also help tighten the skin.

Other possible side effects may include tenderness, bruising, redness, and numbness in the treated area.

What is the average age of someone who gets the Kybella injection?

Dr. Mai has treated patients from 25 years old to 80 years old. Keep in mind that you can receive the injection only if you over the age of 18. Many people seek treatment when they are younger due to unlucky genetics. Kybella can help you at any age!

Why do people get Kybella?

The Kybella is needed to treat double chins or the fat in the area below your chin.  Most of our clients complain that they are frustrated with their double chin even though they tried dieting.

How many treatments are required?

It may take several weeks after your treatment session before you see improvements. This is because it takes Kybella some time to break down all the fat cells in the area treated. We recommend that you come back for two to three session at least so that we can treat any remaining fat that bothers you. The number of treatment sessions may vary from person to person.
